Pakistani cinema has been a mixed bag for the past couple of years. Some of the films have been rather forgettable, and others have managed to impress the public and the critics, and seem to be doing rather well at the box office.
It looks like the industry will start 2019 with a bang with the release of Gumm, a psychological thriller about a wanted criminal and a desperate father, lost in the middle of nowhere, who is trying to save what matters most to him.
The teaser has us on the edge of our seats waiting to see what happens next. Shot in the beautiful forests of Islamabad, not only is it attention-grabbing, the brilliant imagery gives us a glimpse of the film's plot.
Gumm has been produced by Shakeel Anjum, and stars Sami Khan, Shamoon Abbasi and Shameen Khan. It has been written and directed by Ammar Lasani and Kanza Zia.
The film has also made waves internationally having been officially selected at AAB International Film Festival, India, and CKF International Film Festival, UK. The film was nominated for 15 international awards, out of which Sami Khan managed to bag the award for best actor.
After completing its international circuit, Gumm is all set to release on 11th January 2019.
Sami Khan confirmed the news on his official Instagram handle, sharing a poster of the film.
Shamoon Abbasi too has confirmed the news o the team at HIP in Pakistan.
We are looking forward to watching Gumm, and hope that the film turns out as exciting as the teaser.
